Business Week, (October 1 2004)
Ranking of the best international MBA programmes drawn up by the leading North American publication Business Week: ESADE Business School is placed 4th internationally and 3rd in Europe. ESADE MBA programmes also maintain their number 1 position in Spain.
ESADE Business School is the third best business school in Europe and the first in Spain, according to the latest ranking of Full-Time MBA programmes drawn up by the North American magazine Business Week. In the classification of international schools, an exclusive list in which only ten institutions that are not from the United States appear, ESADE occupies the fourth position, passed only by the Canadian Queen's, the Swiss IMD and the French INSEAD.
The position obtained by ESADE is the best a Spanish business school has ever achieved in the Business Week ranking. The North American magazine is the publication that has spent the most time (16 years) producing classifications of business schools. This ranking, which is only published every two years, has become a world benchmark for both companies and those wishing to take an MBA course.
The Business Week ranking consolidates ESADE as one of the best business schools in the world, a recognition that it obtained two weeks ago in the North American newspaper The Wall Street Journal, which placed ESADE as the third best business school in the world and the first in Spain.
ESADE, number one for companies
The methodology for the Business Week ranking is based on three main sources: satisfaction surveys of companies that employ MBA graduates, satisfaction polls among MBA students and an independent evaluation of the schools according to their capacity to produce knowledge.
In the partial classification based on the companies' opinion, ESADE obtained the first position among the non-US centres. On these lines, the companies consulted by Business Week highlight as the main qualities of the ESADE graduates, "their leadership ability, their attitude and their analytical and communication skills". The excellent opinion that companies have of the ESADE MBA is clearly expressed in the "global quality" variable, where ESADE obtained the most points for a non-US school. Furthermore, ESADE is, according to the companies, the best business school in the areas of "marketing, communication and teamwork".
"The changes made over recent years in the MBA programme are now being recognised. ESADE is a school that focuses all its efforts on the student, without ignoring the needs of the companies and the ethical commitment," states Carlos Losada, Director General of ESADE.
The 10 non-US schools that feature in the ranking are, in this order: Queen's (Canada), IMD (Switzerland), INSEAD (France), ESADE (Spain), London Business School (UK), Western Ontario (Canada), IESE (Spain), HEC Paris (France), Toronto (Canada) and HEC Montreal (Canada).
