Methodology

Learn while working in your field

The Double Degree in Law + Global Governance, Economics & Legal Order applies a practical focus for you to become an expert in law and international relations. It combines a rigorous theoretical framework with experiential learning based on solving real case studies, litigating, preparing legal strategies, presenting arguments and rebuttals, applying legal reasoning, drafting legal documents, negotiating, managing international conflicts, participating in Model UN sessions, etc.

Your immersion will increase progressively in keeping with the learning-by-doing methodology. As you advance through the programme, the curriculum will incorporate more experiences inside and outside the classroom.

Student First: A new educational experience

Esade’s Student-First methodology connects to the most advanced educational trends and is based on a basic concept: students’ active role in the learning process. With the Student-First methodology, you and your classmates will participate in the knowledge-generation process, and your work will contribute to the collective learning process.

One of the biggest differences with respect to more traditional methods is that you have to come to class having prepared the topics to be addressed that day. This is what’s referred to as the flipped classroom which divides the learning process into three distinct phases.

Preparing for class

Reading, researching and watching or listening to multimedia content on the basic concepts to be addressed in class

In-class work

Sharing the knowledge you’ve acquired with your classmates and faculty through debates, reflections, resolving case studies and challenges, and completing projects

After work

Furthering your understanding and reflecting, applying the concepts acquired in other areas
