Thinkers50, the premier ranking of global business thinkers, has announced the Thinkers50 Radar list of the 30 management thinkers most likely to shape the future of how organisations are managed and led. The new ranking includes ESADE faculty member Marco Bertini as one of the outstanding management gurus of the year due to his research contributions on the subject of monetisation.

Marco Bertini, Associate Professor and Director of the Department of Marketing at ESADE, conducts research on the psychology of pricing decisions. "Because of technology, we are now much more prepared to understand what value is, how to measure it and how to price it", commented Bertini. "Consumers ideally want to pay only for what they want, and technology is forcing established companies – and motivating news ones – to rethink the dominant logic in the way sellers in a market go about making money". Bertini’s areas of interest also include customer-led pricing mechanisms and the role of managerial biases in instigating price wars.

Thinkers who want to make the world a better place

The thinkers featured in the Thinkers50 Radar ranking are chosen on the basis of their great business ideas and their remarkable contributions to reshaping the future of management. "When we started the Thinkers50 in 2001, the emphasis was on improving corporate performance and profitability", commented Thinkers50’s Stuart Crainer. "The next generation of thinkers wants to make the world a better place. We are optimistic that their ideas will indeed make a difference"

Published every two years, the Thinkers50 Radar scans and shares the best in management ideas worldwide. Countries represented in this edition include the Netherlands, South Africa, the United States, India, China, Spain, Germany, Hungary and the United Kingdom. In 2017, for the first time, the Radar includes more women than men.
