Major law firms continue to seek out talent at ESADE Law School. Each year, 33 law firms come to ESADE with the aim of recruiting the most talented students for their organisations.

According to the school’s data, 97% of the students in the Master in Legal Practice join a top-tier law firm within three months of passing the bar exam. Similarly, ESADE Law School graduates pass competitive examinations in record time (2-3 years for diplomatic careers and 5-8 years to become a notary).

Among ESADE Law School graduates, the most common subspecialties are commercial law (44%), tax law (21%), labour law (8%) and bankruptcy law (8%).

Demand for new profiles

Law firms come to ESADE in search of candidates with excellent academic training, a mastery of multiple languages, and strong analytical and communication skills. Recruiters also highlight other skills and competencies, including teamwork capacity and the ability to adapt to multidisciplinary environments. Moreover, with the emergence of new technologies and innovation processes in the legal sector, law firms have found that they must hire young people who understand how to apply new technologies in the world of law and are capable of contributing their technological knowhow in a creative way.

A fair to attract top talent

ESADE Law School recently hosted the 16th ESADE Law Career Fair, an event that puts students into contact with important recruiters in the legal sector. The fair is primarily designed to enable students in the last year of their studies to secure employment and to allow all other students to explore internship opportunities. In previous years, more than 50% of employment and internship offers accepted by ESADE law graduates were facilitated by the ESADE Law Career Fair.

This year, the ESADE Law Career Fair introduced a new feature called Inspiring Career Speeches. In these seven-minute talks, law-firm representatives discussed the skills, competencies and values that lawyers need in order to succeed in the profession. The aim was to provide students with tips about the various tests that they can expect to encounter during for selection processes for jobs or internships.

This edition of the ESADE Law Career Fair also featured workshops, interviews, dynamic exercises and an open house, allowing students to interact directly with the participating firms.
