Amazon, McKinsey, Adidas and GlaxoSmithKline share the keys to successful recruiting

The international companies participated in the first ESADE Careers session for the academic year, kicking off the career service’s activities to assist and guide students in their career development

International companies came to ESADE to share the keys to successful recruiting with students and to offer them key advice for designing their careers. Dee Clarke, Head of EU Campus Programmes  at Amazon, Konstantin Pell, Engagement Manager at McKinsey, Linda Makura, Strategic Consultant at Adidas, Aurélie Van Cutsem, Regional University Relations Lead - EMEA at GlaxoSmithKline, Luis Faus, Vice-President for Latin America at Werfen , Pedro Pinto, Regional Manager at eCooltra, and Georg Stockinger, Partner at Paua Ventures, participated in the ESADE Careers inaugural session, held on ESADE’s international campus in Sant Cugat (Barcelona). The event marked the start of the activities the ESADE Careers team will carry out over the academic year with the aim of helping students plan, prepare for and enhance their careers. 

‘We strive to provide students and recruiters with a service that can be accessed at any time from anywhere in the world, in order to support and help place our students at the world’s leading organisations’, said María José Verastegui, Director of Corporate Development at ESADE Careers. ‘Our team works hard to bring recruiters to campus from a wide range of industries, including consulting, banking, FMCGs, retail and healthcare, all looking to recruit ESADE talent’, she added.

Development plan and industry-specific sessions

Among the various presentations given, special attention should be drawn to the pharmaceutical giant GlaxoSmithKline’s presentation on ESPRIT, a programme designed to enhance leadership skills. Kumiko Koyama , Finance Director for Spain and Portugal, and Puneet Gulati, Global Marketing Director, shared tips with the ESADE MBA students for designing their career and making it attractive to leading international companies.

Personal branding was the main focus of the first session of the student development plan launched by ESADE Careers. This training was further supplemented with industry-specific workshops, in which MBA participants were able to learn first-hand the requirements and opportunities in the fields and industries of technology, healthcare, financial services, consulting and industry. The sessions also included a guide to successfully taking advantage of the different job forums and professional events organised by ESADE and making the best impact when meeting with companies.
