Internships:

All ESADE Full Time MBA candidates are encourage to do a 12-15 week internship in the summer between the first and second years in order to put into practice some of the skills gained in the first year of the MBA.  Many MBA participants who complete a summer internship are invited to join the firm permanently upon graduation.

Second year Full Time MBA participants can also elect to do a corporate internship in Barcelona during the second year of the program (September-April), providing them with a head start in their career.

Foreign students, including European Union citizens, need the NIE (Número de Identificación de Estranjeros - see how to obtain it in 2-Understanding the market, "work abroad" section) in order to set a "Convenio de colaboracion educativa" (a contract between ESADE and the company where both parties collaborate to train the student on the job. The student is not an employee of the company)

Internships in USA: The Spain-US Chamber of Commerce is authorized by the United States Information Agency (USIA) to issue the Certificate of Elegibility required for J-1 Training Visa applications for non specialty training (up to 3 months) and specialty training - business, management, commerce, finance, law, public adminitration, information media and communications (up to 18 months).

Although these visas are mainly geared toward Spanish nationals, non-Spanish nationals are also eligible, as long as they participate in training programs with entities having a Spanish affiliation. Spanish companies, companies with an office in Spain, and international organizations of which Spain is a member all qualify as training entities having the necessary Spanish component. Exchange students are not allowed to set an internship in Spain through ESADE (for legal reasons) but they can find an internship on their own and reach a formal practice contract with the company  (as long as they have work permit. Please find more information in point 2-Understanding the market, "work Abroad" section). Please note that Esade MBA Career Service does not intervene during this process.

The following two guides available at the Career Resource Centre The Insider's Guide to Getting Your Ideal Internship (53.01) and The Hobsons Guide to Placement and Internships in Europe (53.03) may be a good starting point.

MBA Full Time Students are also encouraged to find internships on their own.

In order to view access details you need to log into the system. Full Time MBA students only.
