Participatory sessions.
Classes are given by teachers and managers with considerable practical experience in both company operations and management. This allows pooling of knowledge and comparison of the solutions proposed during the programme with the results obtained by companies in various sectors. This methodology fosters student participation and dialogue. Teams of teachers and managers impart many of the courses based on a team teaching and participative learning approach.
Teamwork.
Work groups are an important vehicle for student collaboration and capitalise on members' strong points in analysing and solving key business issues. The groups enrich and broaden discussions and projects by providing different perspectives on the same problem. Staff put a considerable amount of work into preparing and leading sessions.
Case-Play (management simulation).
This methodology gives students the opportunity to experiment with decision-making processes in a managerial capacity through a simulation that takes into account a company's internal and external interrelationships.
Case study and discussion.
Real company situations are described in order to: foster discussion; give students the opportunity to demonstrate what they have learnt; stimulate individual and group study. Students discuss the cases in a methodical, rational fashion. This activity fosters students' ability to take part in and take decisions, to argue, negotiate, and acquire knowledge from other participants and teachers. In this case, the most important feature of the methodology is not the solution but rather the inductive method used by students in individually preparing the topic and subsequently discussing it in a group.
Evaluation system.
The evaluation takes into account participants' professional activities. The following are taken into account in grading students:
Active participation in sessions
Evaluation of case study sessions and practical exercises by groups and/or by individual students.
Grading through tests and exams throughout the course.
Presentation of projects
Students failing courses at first exam sittings are given a second chance at a re-sit examination.
