• FAQs
What studies do I need to access the MSc Programmes in Management?
You must be an Honors graduate in Business Administration and Management or a similar discipline. Your qualification must be an officially recognized one.

What should I do if I am unsure whether my university studies will let me access the MSc Programmes in Management?
Send us your academic record detailing the subjects you studied and the scores you achieved.

Do you need to have professional experience to be accepted?
No, professional experience is not an admission requirement of the MSc Programmes in Management.

What is the difference between the MSc Programmes in Management and an MBA?
The MSc Programmes in Management are designed for young graduates in Business Management or a similar discipline without professional experience (internships are not counted as professional experience) or with minimal professional experience (under 2 years). The Master programs capitalize on previous knowledge by approaching it from a practical perspective and specializing in an area of interest. You also develop a range of personal and professional skills which will boost your career opportunities. MBA programs from world-leading Business Schools, such as ESADE, are aimed at professionals with at least two years professional experience. In fact, the average of our students is 5 years. MBAs are for graduates from any discipline who want to receive in-depth training in management. There are some MBA programs which do not require a minimum of two years professional experience, however, these tend not to appear in rankings or on recruiters' shortlists.

What are the language requirements for the CEMS MIM?
To access the CEMS MIM you must speak three languages: your mother tongue and two foreign languages. One of the three must be English. Spanish is highly-recommended. The CEMS MIM programme requires a basic level of Spanish (level A2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) which will be assessed during the telephone interview that forms part of the Admissions process. You can find more detailed information in the Admission requirements section.

How do I begin the admission process for the CEMS MIM?

Is there a compulsory interview? Do I have to go to Barcelona to do it?
Yes, the interview is compulsory for all CEMS MIM candidates as it helps us to clarify your suitability for the program and check your level of foreign languages. They are almost all held over the telephone, although if you are visiting the campus, you can also carry out the interview, then.

How do I choose the institution where I will do the CEMS Exchange Program?
In your application you should indicate your preferences. Places on the exchange program are limited and are assigned according to academic merit once the course has started.

When should I begin the admission process?
Now. We are already receiving online applications for the next edition of the program to begin in September 2011 (sole intake). You should begin the admission process as early as possible given that there are very few places on this program and if you wait until June, they may all have been filled. Remember also that the admission process is lengthy and there are several steps which do no depend entirely on your availability:

. Gather all the documentation required: academic record, university certificate, etc.
. Take the GMAT: If you wait to take the GMAT at the last instance, you may find it is not possible in your city until long after you expected. Also bear in mind that if you are not satisfied with your score, you must wait a month until you can resit the exam.
. Take a level test of English: Some are available twice or three times in one year. If you choose the TOEFL, you may find the same problem of lack of places as with the GMAT.
. Apply for a visa: Do you need a visa to come to Barcelona? If so, apply for it as soon as you are accepted on the program. The visa process is usually lengthy and must be done entirely in your home country.
. Find accommodation in Barcelona

When is the deadline for applications (2011-2012)?
The deadline for the submitting applications is June 30, 2011. By this date, you must have submitted the admission application and paid the process fees. You have until July 31, 2011 to submit all the required documentation, test results, etc.

What should I do to begin the admission process?
The process begins when you submit your application and pay the process fees. Currently, the steps you must follow are:
- Submit your admission application (you can do this online)
- Send the documentation required
- Take the GMAT or ESADE Admission Test
- Carry out a personal interview

When and how will I know if I have been accepted?
Once all documentation has been received, including academic record, the GMAT score, language certificates, etc., the Admissions Committee can begin to assess your application. This process takes approximately one month. The decision of the Admissions Committee will be published on the Intranet. You can also find this information in the Check the status of your application section.

What must I do once accepted?
Your letter of acceptance includes instructions to reserve your place. Consult the Payment and Registration section for more detailed information

Can I apply for two programs at the same time, in case I am not accepted on one?
Yes, you can, but you do not have to send the application twice. Simply submit your application to your preferred program and indicate your second choice.

For the personal interview, do I have to go to Barcelona?
It is not necessary as it can be held over the telephone.

What should I do if I have a doubt about completing the online application form?
Did you download the instructions?

You will probably find the answer to many doubts about online application in this document. If after reading it, you still have doubts, please contact the Admissions Office.

What can I do if I submitted my online application and forgot to include something?
Please contact the Admissions Office and they will reactivate your application.

What should I do if the program does not let me pay by TPV?
Please contact the Admissions Office.

What should I do if I cannot see the status of my application with the username and password you gave me?
It is important to check that you are on the right page, that is, "Check the status of your application". If so, check that you are entering the correct username and password. Your password contains letters and numbers and it is easy to confuse, for example, the letter "O" with the number "0". If you continue having problems, please contact the Admissions Office.

What should I do if documentation I already sent to ESADE appears as "to be sent"?
Documentation takes some days to arrive here and the Communication and Admissions Service may take some time to update data. After a few days, if the documentation still appears as "to be sent", please contact the Admissions Office.

What should I do if I cannot send some documentation until September and it appears as "to be sent"?
Do not worry. If you are in your final year at university, you will not be able to send an official copy of your degree until shortly before the program start date. This does not interrupt the admission process: you must submit your degree certificate once you have it, though.
